Home electrical wiring

There is a sheathed non-metalic electrical conductor called Romex generally used as home electrical wiring. This is the most commonly used cable used in the house. Romex is categorized by the national Electrical Code (NEC) as an underground feeder (UF) and also as non-metallic cable (NM and NMC). An NMC cable is flame and moisture resistant and non-conducting. These cables must be protected and fastened to device boxes. Any device that may damage the cable is not allowed. These are permanent wiring for home and should not be used for any other purposes. There are special instructions available for their installation and proper use, which must be carefully followed otherwise they can become vulnerable to damage.
